Vanadium slag

This standard applies to vanadium slag extracted from vanadium pig iron.
1 Technical requirements
1.1 Grades and Chemical Composition
1.1.1 Vanadium slag is divided into six grades according to vanadium pentoxide grade, and its chemical composition shall comply with the following table:

1.1.2 The content of metallic iron in massive vanadium slag should not exceed 22%.
1.2 Physical State
The vanadium slag is delivered in a bulk or powder form. The particle size of the massive vanadium slag must not exceed 200 mm x 200 mm. The particle size of the powdered vanadium slag and the metal iron content are agreed upon by the supply and demand sides.
1.3 Delivery Requirements
Delivery of vanadium slag must not be mixed with significant impurities.
2 test methods
2.1 Sampling
The sample of bulk vanadium slag was taken in accordance with the method specified in Appendix A (Supplement).
2.2 sample preparation
The preparation of bulky vanadium slag samples was carried out according to the method specified in Appendix 3 (Supplement).
2.3 Determination of iron content
The determination of the iron content of bulk vanadium slag is temporarily carried out according to the current test methods of each plant.
2.4 Chemical Analysis
The chemical analysis method was performed according to YB547-67 "Methods for Chemical Analysis of Vanadium Slag".
2.5 Others
The test method for powdered vanadium slag, except for chemical analysis, was agreed by both parties.
3 inspection rules
3.1 The delivery of vanadium slag is accepted by the vehicle and the vanadium slag in each compartment is a delivery batch.
3.2 The inspection and acceptance of vanadium slag quality shall be carried out by the technical supervision department of the supplier. The acquirer has the right to conduct re-inspection. If there is objection, it should be submitted to the supplier within one month from the date of arrival.
4 Packaging, Transport and Quality Certificates
4.1 Bulk vanadium slag is transported in bulk or in open-air vehicles. If required by the buyer, it can be shipped by boxcar or simple boxcar.
4.2 The powdered vanadium slag is packaged and transported by both the supplier and the buyer.
4.3 The delivery of vanadium slag shall be attached with retest specimens and quality certificates.
The quality certificate should indicate:
a. Vanadium slag brand, group, grade, category, chemical composition and metal iron content;
b. Weight and base amount.
c. vehicle number and delivery date;
d. supplier name and inspector code.
Appendix A
Bulk vanadium slag sampling method
(Supplement)
A.1 The test specimens shall be taken with a spade in the delivery compartment.
A.2 The sample shall be taken in two layers. The heights of the upper and lower layers shall be respectively located at 3/4 and 1/4 of the actual loading height of the vanadium slag. The location of each sampling point should meet the following requirements:

A.3 The sampling amount at each sampling point should be balanced and not less than 10kg. The total sampling volume of each batch of vanadium slag should not be less than 1% of the actual weight of the batch of vanadium slag.
A.4 The particle size distribution of vanadium slag samples should be representative of the actual particle size distribution of the vanadium slag.
A.5 After agreement between supply and demand sides, it is allowed to quantitatively store vanadium slag and sample it before loading. After loading, the components that make up the batch of vanadium slag are combined into the batch of samples.
Appendix B
Bulk vanadium slag sample preparation method
(Supplement)
B.1 Test vanadium slag samples shall be prepared by crushing and shrinking all samples of the same delivery lot.
B.2 The sample is broken on a dedicated high-manganese steel plate with a crusher or manually.
B.3 Flatten the sample on the steel plate and divide it by the quater method (take the diagonal) as specified in the following table:

B.4 Divide the sample below 3mm into four equal parts by quartering method, one for the test sample, one for the auxiliary sample, keep for three months, the buyer, and the other discard.
B.5 The chemical analysis sample was taken by magnetic separation and suction of metallic iron I and metallic iron II and passed through a sieve of 120 mesh.
