China Automobile Association: China's car sales are expected to exceed 25 million this year

Dong Yang, executive vice president of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, predicted at the 2015 China Automotive Forum held in Shanghai on the 21st that the total sales volume of China's auto market is expected to reach 25 million in 2015.

According to the forecast of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China's autos will grow by about 7% in 2015 compared with 2014, which is expected to reach 25.13 million units, of which passenger car market sales increased by 8% to 21.25 million, while commercial vehicle market sales increased by 2.4. % reached 3.88 million units.

In the segment of passenger cars, Dong Yang predicted that car sales are expected to increase by 1% to 12.51 million, SUVs will increase by 25% to 5.1 million, and MPV will increase by 35% to 2.58 million.

The data shows that in the first quarter, the production and sales of automobiles were 6.2 million and 6.15 million respectively, up 5.3% and 3.9% year-on-year. Among them, the sales volume of cars has dropped by 0.4% compared with the same period of last year. Data show that from 2001 to 2010, China's auto sales increased at an average annual rate of 24.1%, while the average annual growth rate from 2011 to 2014 fell to 6.8%.

Dong Yang said that although the sales base is getting bigger and bigger, the Chinese auto market is still in the popularization period. The high production and sales volume and the slowdown of the growth rate will continue to increase. The total car ownership in the whole society will increase rapidly by more than 20 million vehicles per year.
