Seco Tools develops new grades for reaming coatings

Seco Tools announced in early May that it has developed a new grade of reaming coating, RX2000. The surface hardness of the coating is as high as HV3,200, which can be used to improve the production efficiency of the company's SecoPrecimaster reaming system. Extend tool life. The new RX coating has a very low coefficient of friction, which prevents the formation of built-up edges and improves chip evacuation performance. When used with micron-grain cemented carbide substrates, this ultra-thin (2μm) coating provides better surface finish, chip control and tool life. It is said that when machining cast steel with RX2000 coating, tool life can be doubled compared to other reaming coated grades. The RX2000 is suitable for processing all materials except non-ferrous metals and can use higher cutting parameters for high-volume machining.

The Precimaster reaming system features a one-time reaming head that can be quickly replaced. The system combines a perfectly designed body with internal cooling for precision reaming of through holes or blind holes. The interchangeable reaming heads range in size from 4 to 60 mm. The clamping system guarantees repeatable mounting accuracy of the reaming head and meets H7 hole machining tolerances. In addition, the clamping position of the reaming head on the body makes it easy to replace, eliminating the need to remove the tool from the machine spindle.
