The research team led by Wang Liping and Li Jinlong, researcher of the Key Laboratory of Marine New Materials and Applied Technology, Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, used multi-arc ion plating composite technology to prepare a composite coating of multi-scale coupled superhard TiSiN and Ag. The amorphous nanocrystalline TiSiN coating barrier and microchannel transport technology are used to precisely control the distribution and micro-controlled release of atomic and nanoscale Ag elements. The distribution and scale of Ag elements on the surface of the coating can be obtained intuitively based on the nano-indentation test to simulate the surface hardness distribution spectrum of the coating. The nanoindentation test coating hardness is between 35-45 GPa. The TiSiN coating containing a small amount of Ag has a sterilization rate of 100% in a Bacillus subtilis solution for 24 hours, and has a remarkable effect of inhibiting the adhesion of the triangular algae on the surface thereof. The functionalized super-hard coating has potential application prospects in the antibacterial aspect of high-end medical devices and antifouling and antibacterial in marine key components.
