This standard applies to steel-making, alloy smelting as a composite deoxidizer and a calcium-silicon alloy used as inoculants in the production of cast iron.
1 Technical requirements
1.1 Grades and Chemical Composition
1.1.1 Si-Ca alloy is divided into three grades according to different content of calcium, silicon and impurities. Its chemical composition should conform to the following table.
Grade chemical composition, %
Ca Si C Al PS
Not less than not more than
Ca31Si60 31 55-65 0.8 2.4 0.04 0.06
Ca28Si60 28 55-65 0.8 2.4 0.04 0.06
Ca24Si60 24 55-65 0.8 2.4 0.04 0.04
1.1.2 According to the requirements of the buyer, the two parties can produce products that have special requirements for the content of elements in the table.
1.2 Physical state
1.2.1 Calcium-silicon alloys shall be supplied in the form of blocks. The maximum block weight shall not exceed 10kg and shall be less than 15X15mm pieces. The number shall not exceed 10% of the total weight of the batch.
1.2.2 When the demand side has special requirements for the size of the loan, negotiation with the supplier can provide various sizes of silicon-silicon calcium and powder.
2 test methods
2.1 sampling
The sample for chemical analysis was taken in accordance with YB 70-65 "Test method for sample analysis of ferroalloys".
2.2 Sample Preparation
Preparation of samples for chemical analysis was performed according to YB 71-65 "Method for preparation of samples for chemical analysis of ferroalloys".
2.3 Chemical Analysis
Chemical Analysis According to YB 579-65 "Silicon-Calcium Alloy Chemical Analysis Method"
3 inspection rules
3.1 Quality Inspection and Acceptance
The quality inspection and acceptance of silicon-calcium alloys are to comply with the requirements of YB 586-65 "General Requirements for Acceptance, Packaging, Marking, and Quality Certificates of Ferroalloys".
3.2 Batches
The same grade of silicon-calcium alloy is classified as a batch of loans, but the difference between the amount of silicon in a batch of products must not exceed 6%.
4 Packaging, Marking, Storage and Quality Certificate
The packaging, marking, storage and quality certificates of silicon-calcium alloys shall meet the requirements of YB 586-65, or be supplied in containers, and should be protected against moisture during storage and transportation.
