There are three main solutions to voltage instability:
(1) Magnetic pole gasket: inserting a benign magnetic conductive material under the pole piece of the DC motor to reduce the excitation magnetic field gap, so that the DC motor can saturate the output characteristic at a small excitation current, thereby making the output of the DC motor The voltage is stable.
(2) Connect a suitable resistive load such as an incandescent bulb in parallel with the magnetic field adjusting resistor of the excitation circuit, and use the resistance of the resistive load to become a non-linear resistance characteristic, so that the field resistance line and excitation characteristics start. The segments have a large angle of intersection, resulting in a distinct intersection with the no-load characteristic curve, so that the DC motor will have a stable operating point at lower voltages.
(3) Adopting automatic excitation adjustment device of generator: The automatic excitation adjustment device of generator has good excitation characteristics, and has various adjustment modes such as constant reactive power and constant power factor, which is very effective for improving the stability and transient response capability of the system. At the same time, it can solve the problem of generator reactive power swing caused by unstable DC motor output voltage and system voltage fluctuation.
The DC motor operating voltage is higher than the rated voltage:
A 220V DC motor, when starting, the commutator is ignited and the switch trips. Check the supply voltage is 230V. If the supply voltage exceeds the rated voltage, will this happen? What range should the supply voltage be suitable for?
The starting voltage is too high, because the starting current when starting the motor is already very large, so if the 230V voltage is suddenly activated, sparks and trips will occur, which is normal. After starting, if the stable working voltage is 230V, the motor should be no problem. The key is that the current at startup is too large. It should be possible to solve this problem.
The relationship between voltage and current of DC motor: The voltage, current and power of DC motor has always been a difficult point in the teaching of high school physics "electric power and electric power". Because the motor circuit belongs to the non-pure resistance circuit, Ohm's law is not applicable, and students often do not really understand the use conditions of Ohm's law. They often use Ohm's law to solve the voltage, current and power problems of the DC motor, resulting in such problems. The rate is very high.
