4, ASA resin aging resistance
The wavelength of light that can age the SAN resin in ASA is 250-290 nm. This band is less in sunlight. It can be used to add SAN by adding suitable UV absorbers, light stabilizers and carbon black. Very good protection.
For the rubber phase, light waves with a wavelength of less than 700 nm in sunlight have sufficient energy to photooxidize butadiene, but only light waves of less than 300 nm oxidize the acrylate. The ultraviolet absorber is selective for the absorption of light waves, and generally absorbs light waves of 270 to 400 nm.
Therefore, for ABS, only the addition of carbon black, titanium dioxide and other screen sputum can play a significant protective effect on the resin, and the UV absorbing agent has a limited protective effect.
