1. Brush overheating

(1) Excessive pressure on the brush. The main reason is that the compression spring is not adjusted properly or the spring force of the compression spring is too large. The normal pressure value of the motor brush can be found in the instruction manual or related manuals.

(2) The current density of a single brush is relatively large. If multiple brushes are placed on a slip ring, if some of the brushes are not in contact with the slip ring. Then other brushes with better contact will generate heat due to sharing of much softer current.

(3) The copper content of the brush is less than the standard value. When the brush is manufactured with the wrong material or the material itself is unqualified, or other types of brushes are misused, the copper content of the brush will be less than the calibration value.

2. There is a large spark on the contact surface between the brush and the slip ring

(1) The distance between the brush box and the surface of the slip ring is too large. The distance between the lower mouth of the brush box and the surface of the slip ring should be between 2 and 4 mm. Too large will cause the brush to swing and produce sparks.

(2) The contact area between the brush and the slip ring is less than 75% of the cross section of the brush. At this time, in addition to generating sparks, it will also cause the brush to overheat.

(3) The brush or slip ring is too hard or uneven.

3. The brush wears too fast

(1) The carbon content of the brush is too much, that is, the material composition is unqualified or the wrong brand is used.

(2) The surface of the slip ring is rough.

(3) The working environment is too dry or humid.

4. The slip ring wears too fast

(1) The slip ring material is unqualified. The copper content of commonly used copper rings should be around 80%.

(2) The brush is too hard or the pressure is too large.
