On September 21st, the Sixth Geological Brigade of the Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Minerals constructed the ZK303 hole in Benxi, Liaoning Province, with a final hole depth of 2109.81 meters, which set a new record for the national drilling of small-diameter core drilling of domestically produced machines.
It is understood that this record-breaking hole is arranged for the iron ore census. The construction mine is located in Benxi City, Liaoning Province. The designed hole depth is 2100 meters, the inclination angle is 88°, and the final hole diameter is 75 mm. The strata in the mining area vary greatly, are easy to be inclined, the rock formation is hard, the footage is slow, and it is easy to slip. After accepting the task, the Shandong Geological Six Team Project Department combined with the mining stratum characteristics and deep drilling construction experience, repeatedly optimized the diamond drill bit, scientifically determined the mud ratio and drilling parameters, specially purchased the correcting equipment, which lasted for 5 months and smoothly constructed to 2109.81. The final hole of the meter, all the indicators have reached the design requirements, and the brand of the hero geological team has started.

From 2007 to the first half of 2009, the accumulated mechanical core drilling workload was 2,263,400 meters, of which solid rock drilling was 2.0225 million meters, which is far ahead in the drilling teams of various provinces and cities nationwide. In November 2008, in the same mining area that broke the record of Kongshen, the Third Geological Brigade of Shandong Province used domestically produced drilling rigs and tools to achieve a diamond small-diameter rope core drilling of 2046.02 meters, the first to break the domestic drilling rigs. Geological drilling has the deepest record. In March 2009, the team also updated the hole depth record to 2100.18 meters in the exploration of Jining Iron Mine in Shandong.
